ARTISTS SHOWCASING ARTISTS
We are dedicated to the creative process at HAUS Salon, and that goes beyond hair, skin and body. We believe in supporting all artists. Since our first salon opened in 2011, we have committed to showcasing the work of fine artists on the walls of our salons. Collections rotate among artists and among the three salons regularly. Did you know you can purchase these works of art from the artists?
On this page, you will find artwork currently displayed in our salons that is available for sale from local Twin Cities artists via Gamut Gallery.

FINE ART FROM EMILY FORBES AT HAUS SALON
FEATURED AT HAUS SALON IN SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS
BIO
“In examining the finished product, I'm able to discover my deepest feelings and core self. If I focus on my inner self and push away judgment, I am happiest and most surprised by what I find.”
Vibrant use of color and movement are often the first things observed in the art of Emily Forbes. Self-taught, Emily began using art in adulthood as a means of therapy to cope with disability. They are always exploring new mediums and pushing their artistic boundaries, with a certain affinity for acrylics, alcohol ink, and mixed media. Their expressive, intuitive style takes influences from nature, modern life, and a healthy dose of curiosity.
FINE ART FROM GENIE CASTRO AT HAUS SALON
FEATURED AT HAUS SALON IN NORTH LOOP MINNEAPOLIS
BIO
Genie Castro is a community leader in the arts. She creates unity with projects she is involved in by connecting with people. She encourages students and clients to get into the creation process and learn through that exploration. Castro took the lead as director and owner of a printmaking studio in the Casket Arts Building in North East Minneapolis at the beginning of 2022 and called it SuperCharged Printmakers. She and other printmakers create an inviting space for artists to create freely in the medium of printmaking and have showing opportunities.
Castro created The Cream of the Crop Artists Gallery, a booth at the Minnesota State Fair in 2015. With a team of artists they sell and promote one another during the 12 days of the fair and beyond. The gallery opened its doors in Hudson, WI in the spring of 2023 and is thriving. It is this entrepreneurial drive that keeps Castro creating unique experiences for people.
Prior to becoming SuperCharged Printmakers' director, as an administrator Castro has worked with Mia for over a decade through their Art Adventure and Art Perchance programs in her children’s school. She began and ran the annual fundraiser for Willow River Elementary in Hudson, Wisconsin for 14 years. She served on the board at Vesper College in 2011-2012, and from 2014-2020 she was the membership director and art curator at Betty Danger's Country Club(BDCC). In her BDCC role she discovered the tremendous value of being a Northeast Minneapolis Artists Association(NEMAA) member as an individual artist. NEMAA has been directly responsible for the promotion of artists and community and Castro sees that as a huge role model in her businesses. It is with this teamwork that her and her businesses have been part of the promotion of major events by being featured on the Fox 9 news and other cross-promoting efforts and great opportunities.
As an artist, her work has hung alongside artists Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Frank Stella, Robert Longo, Claes Oldenburg and Donald Sultan and was in the Collection at the Chelsea Tahari Showroom in New York’s Art District. Her art is featured in the homes of many private collectors and in public and corporate collections. She has worked as a corporate curator with Aimia and Patterson Thuente IP. She has been honored to donate her artwork to the Auction at MCAD for the past 4 years and her monotypes and screenprints have been auctioned off to go to the scholarship program at the college. She is involved in the Continuing Ed Printmaking Department at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design(MCAD) both as an educator and a student. Castro is excited to continue working with all folks including artists/directors/youth and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
